INCONTEXT

Robert Tuckwell, Design Director

Robert started his architectural career as a part-time architecture student (1987-1991) working in the office of Philip Cox, Richardson, Taylor and Partners in their Blues Point studio. This was an exciting time, as many of Sydney’s Darling Harbour developments were current projects for this architectural practice. Projects that Robert became extensively involved with were the Goulburn Civic Centre and Cronulla Plaza.

Following on from this period, Robert became interested in the specialised field of architectural model-making and joined up with Bruce Webb, The Modelmaker. Over many years, and as a break from the office environment, he would periodically rejoin with Bruce’s studio to maintain and develop his skills in this area of work. This form of architectural presentation became intrinsic to the way Robert approaches any new projects.

After a period working in various architectural practices, Robert returned to university to study Civil and Environmental Engineering (1997-2001). Although interested in structural engineering, Robert continued to work in the architectural field. The last five years before joining up with Incontext Design in February 2007, were spent designing and constructing projects for the office of PTI Architects, an industry leader in tourism architecture. Robert designed a variety of projects for this office including resorts, apartment buildings, luxury houses as well as a synagogue.
